Surface Effects

Surface Effects is a nanoscale phenomenon in which the mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical behavior of nanoelectromechanical systems deviates from bulk material properties due to the disproportionately high surface-to-volume ratio and associated interfacial forces, surface stress, and surface reconstruction at the nanoscale.
