Surface Charge Regulation
Surface Charge Regulation is a theoretical framework that describes the dynamic adjustment of surface charge density at interfaces, such as electrode-electrolyte or nanoparticle-solution boundaries, through the equilibrium exchange of protons or ions between surface functional groups and the surrounding electrolyte, distinguishing it from static surface charge models by accounting for local chemical reactions and electrostatic feedback.
