Suprasegmental Typology

Suprasegmental Typology is a systematic framework within phonological typology that classifies and analyzes phonological patterns and cross-linguistic variation in prosodic features—such as tone, stress, intonation, and syllable structure—rather than segmental phonemes, thereby distinguishing languages based on their organization of supra-segmental phonological components.
