Supersonic Mixing

Supersonic Mixing is a fluid dynamic process in scramjet propulsion systems wherein fuel and oxidizer streams intermingle at supersonic velocities, distinguished from subsonic mixing by the persistence of shock waves and compressibility effects that govern the mixing efficiency and combustion initiation in high-speed airflow.
