Sulfide Reoxidation
Sulfide Reoxidation is a biogeochemical process in marine sulfur cycling wherein reduced sulfur species, primarily hydrogen sulfide, are oxidized back to intermediate or higher oxidation state sulfur compounds through microbial or abiotic mechanisms, distinguishing it from other sulfur transformations by its role in regenerating oxidized sulfur pools in oxygen-limited environments.
