Subtropical Jet Stream

The Subtropical Jet Stream is a narrow, persistent band of strong westerly winds in the upper troposphere that forms on the equatorward side of the Hadley cell due to the conservation of angular momentum and horizontal temperature gradients, distinguishing it from the polar-front jet stream by its more stable, seasonally consistent position and subtropical latitude.
