Subtotal Parotidectomy is a surgical procedure, within the class of parotidectomy techniques, in which partial resection of the parotid gland is performed while deliberately preserving the main trunk of the facial nerve and its major branches, distinguishing it from total parotidectomy by the extent of glandular removal and emphasis on maximal neural preservation.
