Subsystem Codes
Subsystem Code is a type of quantum error-correcting code that generalizes stabilizer codes by partitioning the code space into a logical subsystem and a gauge subsystem, where error correction is achieved through the localization of logical information in the protected subsystem while allowing gauge degrees of freedom to absorb certain errors without affecting logical states.
