Substrate Sensing

Substrate Sensing is a cellular mechanism that enables motile cells to detect and respond to the physical and chemical properties of the extracellular matrix or surface upon which they migrate, distinguishing it from other motility-related processes by its specific role in transducing environmental cues into cytoskeletal and adhesive dynamics.
