Subsampling Amplification

Subsampling Amplification is a privacy amplification technique in differential privacy that leverages the statistical effects of random sampling to strengthen privacy guarantees, where the act of subsampling the dataset prior to applying a differentially private mechanism reduces the adversary’s ability to infer individual data, thereby amplifying the overall privacy protection beyond what the mechanism provides on the full dataset.
