Subordinate Experience

Subordinate Experience is a contingent situational variable in the Path-Goal Theory that refers to the level of a follower's task-specific knowledge, skills, and familiarity, which differentiates it from other leadership moderators by influencing the leader's role in determining the necessity of directive, supportive, participative, or achievement-oriented behaviors.
