Subglottic Suctioning

Subglottic Suctioning is a specialized airway clearance technique that involves the intermittent or continuous aspiration of secretions from the subglottic region via a dedicated endotracheal tube lumen, distinguishing it from conventional tracheal suctioning by targeting the area above the cuff and below the vocal cords to prevent aspiration and ventilator-associated pneumonia.
