Stop Orders

Stop Order is a type of medication order in clinical practice that automatically discontinues a prescribed antibiotic or other therapy after a specified duration or at a defined time point, distinguishing it from continuous or indefinite orders by incorporating a built-in termination mechanism to support antimicrobial stewardship and prompt re-evaluation of treatment necessity.
