Stellar Wind Accretion

Stellar Wind Accretion is a physical process in high-mass X-ray binary systems where a compact object captures and gravitationally binds matter from the supersonic outflow of its companion star’s atmosphere, distinguishing it from other accretion mechanisms by relying on the inherent dynamics of stellar wind rather than Roche-lobe overflow.
