Static Stark Effect is a quantum electrodynamic phenomenon in atomic and molecular physics wherein the spectral lines of atoms or molecules undergo splitting and shifting due to the application of a static (time-independent) external electric field, distinguishing it from time-dependent or oscillating field-induced Stark phenomena.
