Standby Rates

Standby Rates is a type of tariff structure in public utility pricing that specifies the charges imposed on customers who maintain a reserved capacity to draw power or service from the utility system as a backup, distinguishing it from primary service rates by compensating the provider for the cost of maintaining unused but available infrastructure and generation reserves.
