Sponge Filter Feeding

Sponge Filter Feeding is a biological feeding mechanism in which porous aquatic organisms of the phylum Porifera actively draw water through canals and choanocyte-lined chambers to trap and ingest suspended particulate matter, distinguished from other forms of filter feeding by its reliance on a unique aquiferous system and choanocyte-driven flagellar pumping.
