Split-explicit Time Integration

Split-Explicit Time Integration is a numerical time integration method in atmospheric and oceanic modeling that belongs to the class of explicit schemes and is distinguished by its separation of fast and slow wave dynamics, enabling larger time steps for slow modes while maintaining stability for fast modes through smaller subcycled steps.
