Specific Acid Catalysis

Specific Acid Catalysis is a type of acid-catalyzed reaction in which the rate-determining step involves the protonation of the substrate by a hydronium ion (H₃O⁺) or another strongly acidic species in aqueous solution, with the reaction rate dependent solely on the solution pH and not on the concentration or nature of other acids present.
