Solitary Confinement
Solitary Confinement is a form of prison segregation in which an incarcerated individual is isolated in a closed cell for the majority of the day, typically for 22 to 24 hours, with minimal or no meaningful social, sensory, or environmental stimulation, distinguishing it from general population housing and other forms of restrictive custody by its extreme sensory deprivation and prolonged social isolation.
