Solar Wind Acceleration

Solar Wind Acceleration is a physical process in the solar atmosphere whereby the supersonic outflow of charged particles from the Sun gains velocity with increasing heliocentric distance, distinguished from other coronal dynamics by its role in establishing the kinetic energy profile of the solar wind through non-thermal mechanisms such as wave-particle interactions and magnetic field expansion.
