Social Neglect is a form of elder neglect characterized by the failure of caregivers or social institutions to provide necessary social interaction, emotional support, and meaningful engagement, thereby distinguishing it from other forms of neglect through its focus on the deprivation of relational and communal ties essential to an older adult’s psychosocial well-being.
