Snow Sintering

Snow sintering is a physicochemical process within snowpack metamorphism wherein ice grains bond together through localized vapor diffusion, viscous flow, and plastic deformation driven by temperature gradients and mechanical stress, distinguished from other phase-change phenomena by its dominant role in increasing snow density and mechanical strength over time without bulk melting.
