Snapshot Isolation

Snapshot Isolation is a transaction isolation level that belongs to the class of concurrency control mechanisms and is distinguished by ensuring that transactions operate on a consistent snapshot of the database taken at the start of the transaction, thereby preventing dirty reads, non-repeatable reads, and phantom reads while allowing concurrent transactions to proceed without blocking, but potentially permitting serializability violations due to write-skew anomalies.
