Smoke Layer Formation

Smoke Layer Formation is the process by which buoyant combustion products accumulate and stratify into a distinct, horizontal layer of hot gases and particulates beneath a ceiling or within a confined space during a fire, distinguished from other smoke behavior phenomena by its dependence on thermal buoyancy, ventilation conditions, and enclosure geometry.
