Sleep Microarchitecture
Sleep Microarchitecture is a neurophysiological construct that characterizes the fine-grained temporal organization of sleep through the sequential patterning of brief electroencephalographic events, such as sleep spindles, K-complexes, and slow oscillations, within and across sleep stages, thereby distinguishing it from broader sleep architecture through its focus on sub-stage neural dynamics and transient synchronization patterns.
