Slave Violence

Slave Violence is a scholarly construct within the study of ancient Roman slavery that denotes acts of physical, psychological, or structural aggression perpetrated by enslaved individuals against slaveholders, other enslaved persons, or the institution of slavery itself, distinguished from broader categories of violence by its specific sociopolitical context and power dynamics inherent in the Roman slave system.
