Size-dependent Permeation
Size-Dependent Permeation is a pulmonary permeation mechanism in which the rate and extent of molecular transport across the alveolar-capillary barrier are primarily governed by the molecular size of the permeant, distinguishing it from permeation processes driven predominantly by lipid solubility, charge, or active transport mechanisms.
