Six-step Commutation

Six-Step Commutation is a control method for Brushless DC Machines that sequentially energizes two of the three motor phases in a six-step electrical cycle to produce a stepped approximation of a rotating magnetic field, thereby commutating the motor currents at 60-degree intervals based on rotor position feedback.
