Shutdown Transients

Shutdown Transients is a reactor dynamics phenomenon characterized by the time-dependent deviations in thermal, neutronic, and hydrodynamic variables that occur during the transition from steady-state operation to a subcritical shutdown state in a nuclear propulsion system, particularly under the influence of control actuation, feedback effects, and transient fluid dynamics in subsea separation environments.
