Shoreface Environments

Shoreface Environments is a depositional environment characterized by the zone of marine sedimentation along the inner continental shelf that lies seaward of the shoreline and is influenced by wave and current activity in the nearshore to lower shoreface, distinguished from other coastal environments by its specific hydrodynamic regime, sediment grain size distribution, and stratigraphic architecture resulting from fair-weather and storm-dominated processes.
