Shallow-water Wave Reflection

Shallow-Water Wave Reflection is a hydrodynamic phenomenon within the study of surface wave behavior in which incident gravity waves undergo partial or total reversal in propagation direction upon encountering a boundary or discontinuity, distinguished by its occurrence in fluid depths significantly smaller than the wavelength, where wave speed and reflection dynamics are primarily governed by depth-dependent dispersion and nonlinear effects.
