Serendipity Shape Functions

Serendipity Shape Functions is a type of finite element shape function defined on rectangular or brick-shaped elements that employs a reduced set of polynomial basis functions, retaining only those terms necessary to ensure completeness up to a given order while omitting internal nodes, thereby achieving computational efficiency without sacrificing conformity in the approximation space.
