Self-absorption Correction
Self-Absorption Correction is a methodological procedure in quantitative radiation analysis that accounts for the attenuation of emitted radiation within the sample itself, thereby enabling accurate determination of activity or elemental concentration by compensating for signal loss due to self-absorption in beta particle detection, X-ray fluorescence analysis, and related detector efficiency assessments.
