The Selberg Sieve is a sieve method in number theory that assigns optimized multiplicative weights to residue classes in order to upper-bound the size of sifted sets of integers, distinguishing itself from other sieve methods through its use of a quadratic form minimization technique introduced by Atle Selberg.
