Second-harmonic Generation

Second-Harmonic Generation is a nonlinear optical process in which two photons of the same frequency interacting with a non-centrosymmetric material are coherently converted into a single photon with twice the energy, corresponding to a frequency that is exactly double the original, thereby generating light at the second harmonic of the input frequency.
