Second-forbidden Beta Decay

Second-Forbidden Beta Decay is a type of weak nuclear transition in which the emitted electron and antineutrino carry away a total angular momentum of two units, violating conservation of angular momentum unless compensated by nuclear matrix elements, and involving no parity change, thereby distinguishing it from lower-order beta decays by its second-order forbiddenness under the selection rules of beta decay.
