Second Quantization is a formalism in quantum many-body theory that belongs to the class of quantization methods and is distinguished by its treatment of systems with variable particle numbers through the introduction of creation and annihilation operators acting on Fock space to encode the symmetrization or antisymmetrization requirements of identical particles.
