Second Normal Stress Difference

The Second Normal Stress Difference is the difference between the normal stress components in the direction perpendicular to the primary shear flow and the secondary normal stress component in a viscoelastic fluid, distinguishing it from the First Normal Stress Difference by characterizing the anisotropy in transverse normal stresses under shear deformation.
