Script-based Malware Analysis

Script-Based Malware Analysis is a methodological framework within fileless malware analysis that focuses on the detection, deobfuscation, and behavioral inspection of malicious scripts—such as PowerShell, JavaScript, or VBScript—executed directly in memory or through legitimate scripting interpreters, distinguishing it from binary-based malware analysis by its reliance on high-level scripting languages and runtime interpreter manipulation for adversarial objectives.
