Satellite-based Intensity Estimation

Satellite-Based Intensity Estimation is a remote sensing methodology that uses satellite-derived observational data, such as infrared and microwave imagery, to quantitatively assess the maximum sustained wind speed and central pressure of tropical cyclones, thereby enabling operational and research-based storm intensity analysis in the absence of direct in situ measurements.
