Rossby Wave Reflection

Rossby Wave Reflection is a geophysical fluid dynamics phenomenon in which large-scale atmospheric or oceanic Rossby waves propagate against a boundary or spatial gradient in the background potential vorticity and are subsequently redirected with modified wavenumber or direction, conserving wave activity in the presence of varying zonal mean flow or topography.
