Rip Current Formation

Rip Current Formation is a hydrodynamic phenomenon constituting a narrow, swift, offshore-directed flow of water generated by the localized convergence of opposing longshore currents and wave-driven water piling near the shoreline, distinguishing it from other nearshore circulation patterns through its transient, channelized, and sediment-transport-influencing behavior.
