Ring Pack Friction

Ring Pack Friction is the mechanical frictional resistance arising specifically from the interaction between the piston rings and cylinder liner within the piston ring pack assembly, distinguishing it from other sources of engine friction by its localization to the ring-liner contact dynamics and its dependence on ring tension, surface roughness, lubrication, and bore distortion.
