Reservation of Coverage is a legal doctrine in insurance claim settlement practice whereby an insurer, while agreeing to defend or indemnify an insured party, formally asserts uncertainty or denial of coverage obligations under the policy, thereby preserving its right to later deny coverage based on unresolved factual or legal issues.
