Release Factor Recognition

Release Factor Recognition is a molecular biology mechanism that belongs to the class of translational termination processes, wherein specific proteins known as release factors are identified and bound by the ribosome in response to stop codons, thereby distinguishing it from other codon recognition events by mediating the cessation of protein synthesis and the release of the nascent polypeptide chain.
