Reinsurance

Reinsurance is the practice of transferring risk from one insurance company (the ceding insurer) to another insurance company (the reinsurer). As an academic concept and research field, it investigates the contractual mechanisms, economic structures, and financial implications of this risk transfer process, examining its role in insurer solvency, underwriting capacity, capital allocation, and the stabilization of global risk markets.
