Region Retrieval

Region Retrieval is a geographic information retrieval task that involves identifying and extracting spatially coherent areas from unstructured or semi-structured text documents based on their relevance to a query, distinguished from other retrieval tasks by its focus on place-based extents rather than point locations or individual geographic named entities.
