Refrozen Melt Layers

Refrozen Melt Layers is a stratigraphic feature in ice core records characterized by the presence of ice lenses or layers formed from meltwater that percolated and subsequently refroze within the snowpack, thereby distinguishing it from primary deposition and indicating past surface melting events in polar or glacial environments.
