Referendum Processes is a political decision-making mechanism within peace processes whereby a sovereign electorate is directly consulted through a formal vote to legitimize or ratify a negotiated peace agreement, distinguishing it from representative legislative approval by emphasizing direct democratic participation in the settlement of protracted conflict.
